ALABAMA!!

I bought from Phillips once when i needed 30% turkey starter. He quoted me $26 for 50lbs! I was paying 18.50 at st elmo. Unfortunately st Elmo just raised they're prices to 22.25 a bag. Maybe I need to ask them for their Cheapest layer feed as well(quoted $18)?

Tsc is expensive, but they're feed is cheaper than anywhere "I" can find local. I called a guy in Milton. He said he has southern states layer for 12.68 a bag and turkey (30%) for 13.xx a bag. I hate to drive to Milton for feed, but it'll save me hundreds on 34 birds.

Yeah, I was just accepting the $18 a bag for layer. Then I read up on here of people normally paying $9-12 per 50lb bag. Kinda chaps your hide a little when you think of the difference.

Southern states feed would save me $9 dollars a bag for the turkey feed and $6 for layer. I go through bags pretty fast and the saved money could buy more feed. Quite a bit at that.

I cant copy paste the link but...u can google flint river mills feed and click on dealer locator...type in mobile al and it brings up some in loxley and foley. It may be worth checking out. Frm is a good quality feed without the high price in my opinion

Harrell milling co in hartford al sells 18% layer for $10.25 per 50 lb bag. Im almost positive they will deliver to ur door and discount the price if u buy 40 bags.

Hm, TSC here isn't too bad. $17 for 50lbs Layena or Dumor. Hubby works right next to True Value/ACE, may have to check it out.

It's cheaper. Layer was $12-$13. However, protein content is slightly lower Dumors. May not matter for chickens but does for quails.

Dumor makes them stink

I usually go with Layena. I do get the Dumor crumble for chicks (ofcourse the adults end up eating it and stinking up a storm). They honestly lack no protein... they get BOSS often, and scraps and there's bugs a plenty.

Will get Justin to buy it there next time. We just got another bag yesterday. I currently use 2-3 bags a month

Hi, I'm in mobile.. How many people do we have around this area? Also, if anyone knows a great place to get cheap feed I'm all ears. Where I normally buy feed at went up $4.25 a bag. It was already 18.50

I get a 22% layer for about $12.50 for 50 lbs. The same store also carries a 16% layer for $10.50 for 50 lbs, if I recall correctly. But that is in the Birmingham area. Layer feed at my local TSC starts around $17. Not sure how far you are willing to travel for your feed, but G&D Farms in Wilmer cold be an option for cheaper feed.
