Man! Your number is growing. #50lbs last my guys about 3 months+. But they are happy under my persimmon tree eating bugs and fruits through out the day.
They're eating more now that they're older... my hens are honestly fat
I've been trying to feed them twice a day, portioned.... but they get mad and try to escape
I'm thinking of dispatching one of my partridge rocks, ofcourse, it's the same one I have been thinking about for a long time. She's a big fatty.
I've got my original 9 hens from last year, 4 barred rocks from this spring that all turned out to be pullets
, the two white rocks both died (one got sick, one last weekend with the collar ordeal), 3 black birds I got from Cornflake which I think are also all pullets, and then the two pullets from tbmorgan and the two I got from you and then the 5 chicks my chicken hatched.
9+4+3+2+2+5= 25. Yeeeaaah.... and I always said I didn't want more than 10...12...14 grown birds. Time to cut the numbers. In my defense, I REALLY expected to have way more cockerels. The chicks are 3 pullets 2 cockerels, I *think*. 3 have tails, 2 have no tails.
Keepers are my two white rocks. One production red (I think I want to let one go). Baby. My alpha Australorp. 2-3 barred rocks (wanna sell 1-2). 1-2 of Cornflakes pullets (want to sell 1-2). Keeping your and tbmorgans birds. Selling probably all but 1-2 of the new chicks. Soooo that's 2+1+1+1+2(or3)+1(or2)+4+1(or2)= 13 to 16 birds, much more manageable.
I want to get rid of atleast one partridge rock, one production red, MAYBE one of my Australorp hens. One barred rock (or 2). One of Cornflakes pullets (or 2) and 3-4 of the marans/Australorp chicks.
If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. I want $10 for grown pullets/hens, $3 for chicks. Hens are 1 1/2 years old, pullets are 20ish weeks old, just started laying, chicks are 3 or 4 weeks old.
