ALABAMA!!

This WAS my wish list before I had a single chicken:

Lakenvelder (white with black head) or a light sussex
Vorwerk (gold Lakenvelder, orange with black head)
Marans
Welsummer
double laced Barnevelder
wyandottes (blue laced)
Leghorn
Araucana (or easter egger)

I obsessed about egg color and chicken diversity in looks, now I realize some of those do not have the temperament I need

Eventually I will have an olive egger or two, some blue eggers, tan, different shades of brown, maybe a pink one.. But character will come first.

I love the idea of the wyandottes parental nature. Ofcourse, that would lead to some serious chicken math (oh let's stick some eggs under the wyandotte, it'll be cute!)

Bama1, are you by any chance attending the Chicken and Egg Festival in Moulton and bringing cream legbars to sell?

I'm going but won't have any to sell this time. I'm JUST now getting started with the cream legbars..... the hatching eggs I ordered are in the incubator. It will be fall before these are laying and I am hatching. I will have them next year at the festival, and hopefully Sulmtalers also.

i have this orpington hen that i have been breeding with this rooster that i belive is some type of game. and i have hatched out about 10 so far and 3 of them have short wings and the others have long wings. does this mean that the short winged ones are males and the others are girls.
