ALABAMA!!

I am thinking about adding a new breed into my flock to breed! does anyone have any ideas?

If I were in a position to breed chickens, which I'm not, I would probably go for a breed/variety that is more difficult to find. I'm partial to the appearance of the lavender orpington, I'd love to get my hands on other colors of the austrolorp, I have two black austrolorps and would LOVE to have some other colors...they have the best personalities of all my flock.

I agree with you. I'm not in a position to breed either and I just couldn't justify paying $50+ for very nice English orpingtons chicks. Lets not even talk about how much an adult cost or even a nice English Lavender Orp.

Check out the APA site. They will be listed there. There is another site that I can't recall the name of right now........Poultry Central......... or something like that. Just do a search for Poultry Shows and you will find them. There are several coming up in the next few weekends. Make sure to check districts 4, 7, and 12 (ours.)

Here ya go......
