ALABAMA!!

I have a few English Orps hatching today $10/each Blues, Blacks, Splash Beautiful, calm lovely birds for the yard and lay nice big brown eggs! (well....the hens do!) Located just South of Birmingham
Your hens are gorgeous!!! I don't want to start with chicks again right now, but if you ever have pullets or hens for sale I would definitely be interested!!

Never seen them get up on the "big guy" roost this little. So sweet!

Well, guys, I finally finished worming all the chickens, official count - 73 fully feathered and 15 chicks - 88 total!

I kept them shut in until each was caught, dosed, and then turned out to free range. They were not happy. Much flapping, squawking, struggling and fighting was had by all. I even had a couple bite me, not peck, but BITE! Grab a pinch of arm or finger and clamp down and twist! The buggers. Of course, I can't say that I wouldn't do the same in their situation.

I will follow up and do it all again in about 10 days (more likely, two weekends from now.) I will have to do the second one by myself, I have used up my quota of chicken help from the guys......

They are just finishing up their molt and the egg count is still low, I will not eat many eggs in the next month, but should be back in business for Thanksgiving.

Still on my to-do list is cleaning one coop (12x16) and the chicks' quarters (8x8.) My coops and the chicken part of the property looks as bad as it ever has due to the heat and my not being able to get out there. As soon as it cools off some, I will spruce it up a bit.

Toasterburn, since you got the two hens from me before they were wormed, I will dose them for you if you want. It will mean you can't eat the eggs for two weeks, though. I will even dose them a second time when I do mine, but that will mean another two weeks after that where you are advised not to eat them. It means you have to catch them and hold them and squirt the med down the throat, it's not hard, just loud. It's up to you, just let me know.

Wisher would u worm my mother in law? She introduced me to the preacher today and said her daughter was my better half. I told the preacher she was my better 2/3

:p I still have a bruise from the game hen we sold a week ago. I don't like messing with any of the hens we were given since they all bite. The Dom roo is a sweetheart. One of my young girls from Red is a biter, but her half sister isn't. Imagine that.

Thanks everyone! I think this batch is sold!
Wow that was quick but not unexpected.

Amazing! How did it get up there?
