How does everyone handle all this rain up here in the north west corner, my poor birds have had nothing but rain for the last week. there pen is a mess, the high winds blew the top off of their food and i lost it all (100 pounds or better) and now i am wondering how to keep them warm with all the mud

I have a layer of hay on the ground.

I really hate this time of year. I get to see my chickey babies for a minute at breakfast ,then at head count, when they get upset with me for turning on the light while they are sleeping.. i tried to tell my boss,we need shorter hours to go with shorter days, but he won't go for that.IDK why!

I live in PC and the same thing happened. Luckily, I was down to about 10 pounds. I just dumped the bucket into the run and they have been eating it. I didn't see any mold, so I felt ok doing it. The run dried out today, mostly. The coop, luckily is mostly dry inside. It has been cold at night, so I started giving them a suet block from Walmart (the 97 cent kind) and I mixed a 5 lb bag of BOSS in their scratch. I scatter about 1/2-3/4 pound in their run every morning. I think they will add on some fat and keep warm. I have only given them 1 suet this week, and plan to give them about 1 every week or two.
