Hey y'all! We are outside of HSV and loving it! (we moved here 2 years ago). We have Japanese black tailed whites (for now, wanting to branch into egg and meat chickens later. Right now we just have the "show" chickens ).

Lucy (Orps' baby) Michelle and Eleanor (TBmorgan's babies)
Eleanor again.
Regina a.k.a. fat mean cow
I told het I was going to eat her and I swear she started laying again
Heimlich.. such a tug boat.
See the resemblance? Their flying skills are about the same.
Newest layer. Just started laying a few days ago. BCM x Australorp.
My grown birds are pullets: 2 of these BCM x Australorp, 1 EE/Ameraucana, 2 splash marans, 1 barred rock, 2 Jersey giants. Hens: 2 white rock, 1 partridge rock, 1 production red, 2 Australorps. 4 Muscovy.
And 15 chicks in my bedroom.
The hens are probably entering their last year, not expecting too much out of them. Although those white rocks have been troopers. All of my rocks are the most reliable layers.. unless they get fat.
Hey everyone!! I live in Colbert County and was wondering if anyone knew anywhere local that I can buy or trade chickens. Right now I have 2 game hens I would like to trade. I would also like to buy a pair of barred rocks or another good egg producer.
Thanks

She's such a cow. Her "sister" became dinner earlier this year. For some reason they're really bossy birds and eat, eat, eat. Funny how between colorations there's such a difference. I find partridge rocks to be nothing like whites or barreds.

There is a farmers market right near Mcfarland park on Tuesday. There are usually some chickens for sale but you do have to took carefully before you buy,
