I got a kitten that was mean to try and teach my puppies to leave my adult cat alone but it turned out the kitten likes the dogs

It sounded like a good in theory. My poor adult cat now lives on the roof of my shop and under the toolbox in the truck on hot days.

If I get more than five, my DH will file for divorce and my next door neighbor will have a stroke.
I'm hoping he'll like them as much as I do and won't mind if I get a few more.

Did anybody go to the Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival a couple of weekends ago? It was in Moulton. I saw a link to it on facebook.

I'm in the city limits, but in an older neighborhood with no home owners association.

My husband's last court of appeal was for me to call the city and make sure chickens were "legal". The call was pretty comical. The first lady I talked to didn't know the answer but she connected me to the office that handles building permits (!?). She obviously told them what I wanted because the person who answered put me on speaker phone so the whole office could hear.

I could tell she was trying not to laugh but she told me I could have as many chickens as I want and even a rooster, but that I might want to warn my neighbors. When I said I was planning on bribing them with eggs they made it real clear that I couldn't SELL the eggs. I didn't ask why not. My guess is that they want to be sure if I made money, they get their cut in taxes.

That is hillarous. I can believe that. You know they have to have their cut. They have lost too much revenue. Apparently you are not spending enough in their retail establishments to keep the taxes coming in.
