ALABAMA!!

Hello from Montgomery, does anyone have a coop for sale? Peep and Squirt need a coop, i rescued them from my grandmother's yard. I have never had chickens before. I'm learning a lot from this site.
Welcome to BYC. Peep and Squirt are definitely precious as are most downy chicks. I’m not sure how old they are, but it appears you may have a little cockerel on your hands.

I don’t know of a coop for sale, but keep looking and you should find one. Just my two cents, stay away from the little prefab coops. I fell into that trap and wish I had not. I will have to say though, some people prefer them.

I am in Randolph County sort of Centralish I guess. In a small town near Lake Wedowee. I have raised Orps, RIR, Bantams of several different breeds. But I have mostly owned silkies and cochins. I have started to collect some waterfowl but only own one atm. If anyone needs help sexing your chickens let me know. I have found a good way to do it, without having to even turn them over. Its not a scientific way, but I have found that its usually around 90% correct. :) and I wont tell because its a secret :p. Just send me the pictures and I'll do my best to help you out.

I’m hoping to find someone who would like some Roosters for their flock. I have 2 black silkie Roos and a WC black Polish Rooster. The WC Polish was born Nov 24 and the silkies were born Dec 5. I can post pics if you would like to see them. I’m in NW Alabama, Franklin Co. I do travel to Redstone Arsenal frequently, and will travel (in reason) to find a home for them.

Is anyone near/in Huntsville interested in male coturnix quails?

I expected to butcher all the excess that tend to come from hatching eggs, but I managed to injure myself so moving around is currently uncomfortable in a good moment and outright painful in a bad moment. Of course I still tend basic necessities for the birds, no matter how I feel, but butchering is a little too much extra atm and I'm looking at a few weeks to a couple months to recover.

Three were scalped before I got them separated and thus are a little bald, but otherwise are bright-eyed and active. Eight in total. Colors are a mix of pharoah, italian, tibetan, silver, and pansy/sparkly, all from Myshire lines. One of them is a bit overly bossy to the other quail, but has become more tolerant of being around people and has pet potential.

So sorry for your injury and I hope you recover/heal quickly. :hugs
I wish I could help, I’m near Huntsville, but I’m a new chicken Mom and know nothing about quails. I’d offer to help you butcher but I’ve never attempted that, as of yet, either. :(
