Hey y'all ! I'm new to BYC. I live in Moody just outside of B'ham. No chickens yet...I am having a coop built, should be ready the end of April. I think I emailed lucky123 about his coronation Sussex and black and lavender orps. Saw the pics on craigslist and fell in love! He said he'd have some till June ! Can't wait!!

I'm looking at his chickens too and sent an email, but have not heard back from him yet. I was hoping to get a few Lavender Orpington chicks this weekend. Only one of my Ameraucana eggs hatched and now I have one lonesome chick with me, a mirror, and stuffed bunny for friends. That's just not right in chickie world as none of us know how to speak Chirpeneese.

Today is the day I get to call about the BCM eggs! So excited and am fighting myself not to call too early and wake someone up It took me almost a week but finally have this incubator at the right temp and humidity and ready to go.

Didn't get the eggs, he says chickens not laying well. But he did say I could call back in a few weeks and check again. No hatch along for me this time.

Welcome Glddog! Wow, I don't think I 've ever seen a triple post, doubles, sure but not a triple! LOL! No prob though, you'll get used to it in no time. What is your coop going to look like? I missed the chickens on Craigs List. I'll have to start checking there more often.

Kowgurl - I am hoping to give you a heads up, if you're still up, I was thinking of trying to get out your way tomorrow afternoon/evening after DS#1's dentist appointment. I've been off work sick with a cold, but since I have to get out anyway, I thought I would try to include a trip to Knoxville (or is it more like Romulus?) His appt should be over around 5:00pm if that wouldn't be too late to try to come. Of course, I'll call first. If not, I will try to get up with you for Thursday after work. SEE YA' Gurl!

Kowgurl -- Sorry I lost you today. I tried to call and to text you back but soon after my phone battery died. I hope to have time before you go to your lesson, if it doesn't work out, I will be there whatever time you say on Friday. I really want to see your birds so I want to come to your house. I have to go to Moundville tomorrow to pick up a fridge for my rental house and I have no idea how long that will take. Whew! I hate to cut it this close.

Would anyone like a free Ameraucana? She is about 10 mos old..so not quite a year. She is strawberry colored and is a sweet chicken. A few weeks ago I had a neighbor's dog attack and she had a lot of her tail feathers pulled. She is eating, and drinking. However, she keeps having a poopy rear. I am in the Arab area.
