Thats cool. Im still rebuilding our flock from the hawks. lost probably about 35 assorted ~6-8 week old chicks. lost a few more when the hawks learned to dive bomb in between the wires i had up. got pretty good at shootin hawks inside the run without hittin my birds tho, lol

OMG! That's a lot of chicks to loose to hawks! Good luck rebuilding the flock.

price ive paid for traveling for work and not getting home from work till after dark. Wifeys got the youngins to look after. need more hrs in the day lol

Beckslawn have you tried Hanner's Feed? They are at 69 and Brashiers Chapel . He has a bunch of different chcks. I think he had some silkies the other day when I was there. He hatches out often and all sorts of birds. He raises Jersey Giants. However, he also get eggs from people and hatches different breeds out.

Haha yeah Zack, Steve, and Beth are good friends of ours. Dont think he's had any silkies in a while tho. has guineas bunch of quail and some giants right now, but he is setting a whole bunch again, including a few dozen of mine. Lol, you've prolly seen my truck up there, im up there 4+ times a week normally.

Hi my name is Jenny I'm new to BYC and was wondering if there is anybody from my area. I live in Elmore Alabama.These are some of my babies I have belgian d'uccle's, silkies, cochins, polish, and golden starbright. I just hatched 2 baby silkies and have cochin eggs in the incubator. Im not super close, but i did take a few eggs up for a friend of mine to set today. cold snap been messing with my girls laying so mostly turkey eggs, and heck i dont even know if they are fertile. we shall see. lol
