Gwendolynne and Maria walked a little ways away from Alexa and Angela. "so, what's it like being able to see again after months being blind?" Gwendolynne asked. "it's amazing, Gwennie." Maria said. "it almost makes being blind worth it, all those months of pain and suffering worth it, just for that one moment when i realized i could see again. being blind hurt, but if i had to do it again, i wouldn't change a thing. being unblinded was..." Maria finished, at a loss for words. "were you okay riding Windstorm?" Maria asked.

(are there any illgrathr on the island? those are sooo gross...)

Gwendolynne nodded. "it was pretty amazing, but i was also frightened..." Maria cut her off, "yeah, flapping around on their backs like that was pretty aweful, hmm?" she said. "no! as bad as it hurt, i would almost give anything to do it again!" gwendolynne said. (she has secretly loved dragons all her life.)

maria shrugged. "it would have been worse if i hadn't had my sight..." she trailed off. Gwedolynne wasn't really listening, she was listening and searching with her mind for anything unwelcome.

"i think i sense a wild..." gwendolynne started, but before she finished, a wild boar burst out from the underbrush. Maria, checking to make sure it wasn't Alexa (or demeter, or anyone else but a pig) threw her battle axe at it, killing it in one blow. "dinner?" Asked Maria. Gwendolynne nodded and laughed. "you take the boar back to camp and ask Windstorm to cook it for you, and i will continue to search for threats." Gwendolynne said.
