"I believe that it is Kallana's place to continue our story now. Oromis and Glaedr should have told you about her during your studies, Eragon and aSaphira. She is the only dragon who can see the future."
 
Demeter lifted the emerald Eldunari out of the bag, carefully placing bSaphira's heart of hearts back inside it.
"Now, Eragon and Saphira, you must understand this. The future is not set in stone. I know that you have been taught that everything that I foresaw came to pass, but that is not true. The future is not set in stone. It changes, and when I see the future, I am not seeing what will happen, but possibilities, things that might come to pass, and events that might happen. When Oromis and Glaedr discovered Galbatorix's treachery, and Vrael and the others began working on the Vault of Souls, I foresaw a future in which Galbatorix two weeks earlier than he did, and in which he stole our eggs before Vrael, Oromis, and the others who prepared the Vault of Souls finished placing the last of the enchantments on the Rock of Kuthian. Since it was inevitable that he would attack Vroengard and try to steal our eggs and hearts, I believed that there was a strong possibility that what I had foreseen would indeed come to pass. So, bSaphira I went to the dragonesses who had not entrusted their eggs to Graedr, Umaroth, and the others, and to the dragonesses who had mates but had not laid their eggs yet. Together we formed a plan to safeguard our race if the Vault should not provide protection for our children. I had used my ability to watch the coming battle many times, to see how the explosion would affect the island. When I was certain as to what would occur - because I have found over time that if I see something happen in the same way more than once, it will probably happen as I predicted it would - we went to the far side of the island, away from the site of the future explosion. Once there, we laid our eggs and buried them deep in the ground, and with them our hearts. After we did this, we pooled our energy and cast a spell to keep them and us safe from the effects of the explosion, and also from anyone who would try to find us. And thus we remained, guarding our eggs even as our bodies and Riders died, for those of us who were bonded to Riders, and as Galbatorix and Durza searched the island for eggs and hearts of hearts. The only thing that kept us from losing our minds was the determination to protect our children and to see Galbatorix overthrown dragons and Riders present once more in Alagaesia."
 
"You have no idea what it was like for us," bSaphira continued. "Kallana is right; the only thing that kept us from losing our minds was our determination to protect our eggs. We dragonesses who were bonded to riders almost lost our sanity when we felt our bodies or our riders die. You had Glaedr's heart when Oromis passed into the void, so you know what it is like for a dragon to lose his rider, or vice versa. When our bodies died we severed our connections to our riders, so they would believe that we had truly died. You see, Eragon and eSaphira, we had not even told our Riders about our plan to hide our eggs. It was the only way we could be sure that they would be safe."
 
Aurora landed on the island where the others had not to long ago. Luthien and Feanor climbed down adlnd Luthien stretched out her mind to touch Eragon's

Alexa and Quazzar landed in the forest. "what is it?" Alexa asked him. Quazzar blushed and looked at his claws, thinking. he would have liked to say, 'i would like to get to know you better', or, 'it's funny, i just met you and i'm already in love with you', but it seemed as if the words were stuck in his throat.

"would you like to go hunting with me?" he finally asked. Alexa looked down at her claws now. "i'm a vegetarian... we could go anyway..." she thought back, deciding to go with him and just skip the hunting part. she could always go find wild berries or something instead. "come, let's go." she said. she flew off, Quazzar behind her.

"no of course not, we are in the southern courtyard speaking with some other students if you would like to join us" eragon offered.
angela had been walking around the island with an old friend, a dragon that she had raised herself when she visited the island last.
solembum was busying himself playing around with some prey he had found on the island.
arya and aSaphira flew over the island observing the cenery, "i can't believe we made it back home" arya said to aSaphira.
"yes little one, but its not surprising, we have made the trip many a time before." aSaphira said.
