Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Aimee, we'll be going - been needing a road trip for some time now... like about 6 years

But as I said, not sure exactly WHEN....might be a week or two or so. We'll need to go into town one day and get bones for the dogs to tide them over for a 15+ hour day of us being gone. Especially the two in the house.

Well yes, but my dogs go thru a moose bone in a VERY short time...lol I have to get those HUGE knuckle bones from Animal Food Warehouse to last. Plus, no raw bones in the house, so we STILL would have to go in to get some for the inside dogs...lol

But, get me a kennel for yours as soon as you can, and if it's big enough I'm sure Aimee's can go in there too! All my extra cages are occupied, so I'm probably looking at using a box for mine.

Tori if you have some BSL about 5-7 weeks old that would be good, that way I can put them in with the Orloffs.

Hey you all!!!
Summer is almost over. We will have a new computer in a few weeks!!!!!!!! I am at hubbys work writing this, so I wil not be around for replies.

We raised 50 CX this summer, and 16 of those we sold at $20 each. Raised on grass, and Barley and fishmeal. Best chicken ever!!! Some were as heavign as 7 pounds dressed out.
Selling a percentage really cut our feed expenses as well. And even with buying more expensive feed, the cost per bird was lower this year, due to having more pasture for them.

Out of the 30+ eggs/chicks our hens raised for us, we only got 8 hens.
We were overrun with testosterone this summer, to say the least

By the end of the month, we will have put about 60 chickens in the freezer for the year.
We were blessed with double the fish that we normally get as well.
Add to that 2 spring bears, 1/2 a little moose we were given this morning, as well, as a good garden, we will eat well.

Still have not gotten a moose ourselves yet. Just a few more days to try!

I am now taking an all natural Thyroid replacer, ( from www.drrons.com)so I feel fabulous for the first time in years, plus for those of you that know I have Celiacs, I wanted to mention, that after learning that Celiacs sufferers can eat real homemade sourdough, I went ahead and tried eating some, and had ZERO reaction to it

I am back eating real bread!
I can talk more about it next month when we have a 'puter again.
Birdbrain has my number if anyone wants to talk to me before then.

I've got a good one. Mine and Aimee's will probably fit alright.
