Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Donna,

I give mine a slab of salmon from time to time, of course it's usually left overs from dinner that they get, since F&G forbids us
to feed sport caught fish to our livestock....

Today they got leftover halibut from 3 days ago, they loved it!

I've usually got a few of those from past years and some that the vacuum seal gave out on... So that's good. And I'm not informing anyone about who I feed leftover salmon to, or the freezer burned stuff. ( aren't my kids "livestock" LOL?)
Kaasan has pointed out that on occasion, she has thought the banty eggs were slightly fishy.. You had that experience once and it could be a problem from time to time clearly. If I mix my own feed like LS does I'd prefer alternate sources for protein. I do think the meal is way fishier than fresh fish would be, it smells really strong to me..

Yep! I agree, it all depends on how the fish is handled. If you take great care to bleed your fish out
right after you catch it and don't store/clean it in the water you caught it in (river, ocean etc)...Then you shouldnt have
a fishy taste to your fish at all.
When we catch fish, it gets "gilled and bled out" then it goes directly into a cooler full of ice. All fish is processed at home with
fresh water being careful never to get water on the meat.

Here are a few shots of my leg.

Surprisingly, there is no real bruising where the actuall lump was.

And it's bruising the back of my leg too! I swear I only hit the one spot under my knee.

You can also get soybean meal to mix with their food. I add it to the sprouted barley.

But they eat salmon, halibut, leftover bear meat, chicken (shhh... don't tell them!), pork, eggs, whatever the pig doesn't eat.

I think that you might have had some internal bleeding going on there.

But it's a good excuse for a good leg massage.

Keep your foot up, and massage towards your body, and it should help move it out. Did you try the arnica montana?
