Sam's fault!!

Here's a hutch we are working on, made out of all scrap wood and wire...I want to say its 8foot long and divided into 3 compartments....
As you can see they have boxes they can hide in for winter and rest their feet. I'd like to use larger wire just because their poop doesnt fall through the smaller diam wire but
we used what we had on hand......

So, that is enough for three bunnies? They need a solid surface and the wire surface, do they require straw for bedding in the winter??

More info!! Need to get facts before the word is YES...lol AND I just told him if he wants one it's HIS to take CARE OF and HE had to build the hutch. I did the chicken coop (s).

Yep, this will be our raise up pen. My other hutches have larger boxes on them for mamma's and babies......You can make it any size you like, just remember we are
talking 15+ pound rabbit......We stuff their boxes with hay since straw doesnt have any nutritional value for them. It gives them something to nibble on as well. I have yet
to lose a bunny to the elements.

Edit: My boxes also have wire floors but have a solid floor set inside of it so that its easily removable for cleaning......

I went with what Deb told me, but I haven't put in a poop catcher and I need to. It's pretty simple WW, and I have hay in the enclosed private space for Iceman, with a solid floor and part of the open area is also solid.. I am hoping this works okay.

So if I stick two 10lb bags of sugar in it and DROP em and the hutch holds, we're good...lol

Hay is good anyways, we have geese that will need it thru the winter.

What do/can they eat besides grass and weeds? It's been about.... 15 years since we had a rabbit.

Umm yea, easy on the grass and weeds when they are young.....(we wont go there, hubby learned the hard way).......LOL!

I usually don't give young-ins greens until they are much older. It'll cause digestive upsets that can kill them from the
dehydration. Carrots are good, we also feed a pellet feed from AKMF.
