Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

They can be a problem. Some people put lanolin on them in cold spells. Anna had hers in Montana and she said they did great. I will be interested to see how they do here.

I can't comment on every post I missed, but you ladies crack me up.
I would pay money to see WW flapping around in the road. <<not from bad meat though.

Are you sure it had only been dead a couple hours? What if it kicked the bucket right after you went to bed?

I saw your green jeep going into Chickaloon not long after we left WWs. Not sure if it was you driving...

Probably my daughter checking the mail! We were in Anchorage til late yesterday. If you are ever up this way again, please call in. Would love to see you!

That goes both ways!

100% true... but every time we head your way we always have a list 2 pages long! One of these days when everyone is sheep hunting but ME, I'll get by there. My lists are way shorter

He's a good looking boy. Looks like the one I saved for my flock, though I'm thinking of selling the Delawares to make room for the lavender orpingtons. Or Barred Rocks, or Rhode Island Reds, or any of the other breeds that I'm going to have to separate soon...

Went fishing yesterday, so now I'm so far behind on posts I'll just step in here and hope I don't get run over.

I think the rosecomb RIR, or Leghorn would be great ones to add to your seasonal rotation. The Wyandottes are great layers, I think they're supposed to be better than the brahmas, but the leghorns and RIR beat the Wyandottes right? My cochins aren't very good layers at all.

I guess what I'm geting at is we need more small combed varieties that are very good to prolific layers. I love the brahmas and Orps for their winter laying though.
