Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Hey everyone! I came home to a hawk in the backyard, good thing the run is done and I have the fishing line up.
WW and Deb good luck on your hatches!
I hope Shooter is doing even better tonight Deb!

IIF I'd like to see your drawing, could you post a pic? Today is my mom and nieces birthday, (my sister the suck up gave my mom a grandchild for her birthday, like I can ever top that

About fishing line over the run....how far apart are you spacing them? Should I put the line going in one direction only or should it crisscross like a checker board?

I lost a meat bird this week to what I thought was a hawk, but a friend said that the size and color I described sounded more like a juvenile eagle. It was huge! Anyone have an eagle take out your birds?

i swiched to shavings lasy night i like it so much more than hay but the chickens where todly upset they refused to go in at night.in the mrning it was fine though and i think it makes it so they cant eat their eggs cause it is super bouncy

Carmen, I just strung it from rung to rung in my chain link.....here is a photo I took of it.....I want to say I skipped two loops and then threaded it threw again and back over.

I am SO bummed today, I went out to the baby pen and one of hubbies guineas is gone. I have
looked allover for her. Not a sign of anything, not even a feather!
Unfortunatly they are able to fly between the chain link and the covered top.....this is the second time
she had figured it out.

Don't give up hope just yet. I had a missing chicken for three days before I found her in a prickly bush. She was stuck nice and solid too. I had to use shears to get her out. Now she follows me EVERYWHERE.

ETA: like this one, but the leaves are thicker and on the ground (no trunk) http://media.photobucket.com/image/prickly bush/Fiestavus/575IMG_3872.jpg
