Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

OK... first phase is the silkies...
here is the link to the photos. There are 11 juvies available. Three are imperfect, with mismatched toes or single combs. Not sure who's throwing that SC, so I will be working on the new generation next year. I'm hoping to just go with Splashes.

But if you see one you like, let me know. The only one that I'm like 99.999999% sure is a girl, well, she only has 4 toes on one foot. But she'll make a great incubator someday.

I'm still jealous of your 3 1/2 quarts. I love honey!

Next year I'll save you some if we do better

I think you will find it very fine

I will certainly save enough out for people to try Eveil. It is in the hands of the weather

Pretty lousy this year. I was lucky to get any.......
Put me down for two silkies Tori if you have them, . I'd like pullets (of course) but am willing to trust luck if we have to and the 4 toer is welcome here. and #6 if that's not the same one! (#7 if it IS) Does that make any sense?

Blue preferred but splash is fine too.
Those two Orphingtons I got are just gorgeous birds. VERY dark eyes. One roo and 1 pullet (I THINK - *hah*)

IIF - and you can only do a few eggs right? Don't you have the smaller bator?

Tori - sweet babies

If you still have some after I hatch out this batch I'll be getting and they don't hatch... well, you know.

I do, but I need to get my numbers back up a bit. The coturnix are great because of the quick turnaround... 16-17 day incubation, 6-8 weeks to maturity, and BAM... you have a huge colony. Good eating, eggs are great.

Bobwhites take almost as long as chickens to mature, and are little snots. I have several in a "hospital" brooder with scalped heads or skinned feet.

Good eating, and a good thing because that's where most of them are going!

Oh good sounds like I picked a good one to try out then now to get eggs or chicks or a pair so i can start.

Is someone making a delivery? If so I would be interested in the #3 splash, and one of the unknowns that Donna isn't taking. If I have to pick them up.... I'll have to talk to the hubby about that.....

IF you have to pick them up, I could go down with you to spell driving maybe, depending on what's going with Mom....
