Hi All - does anyone know if albendazole is safe for chickens? I am pretty sure my girls have worms - one of them gape worm (so probably all of them) my vet said to give them a de wormer and he listed off a bunch of types but I cant seem to find any online - especially that i can get in a timely manner - Walmart sells a dewormer for "livestock" and that is the ingredient. anyone know if it is safe for Chickens?

Albendazole or Valbazen the brand most chicken people are familiar with, is very safe for chickens. It is sold online and found in some feedstores. If using Valbazen dosage is 0.08 ml per pound of weight—or about 1/2 ml for a 5-6 pound chicken. Give it once, orally, and repeat it in 10 days to get the newly hatched worm eggs. There is 14 day egg withdrawal after the last dose, so a total of 24 days. Here is a good link for it:
