I bred these red eyed quail back in 2008, they are not albino's but red eyed white quail. Red eyed white because they do show some other colour, I've also bred fawn in wild feather pattern and a red range, I also bred a red eyed normal (brown) but it took many months to find out what this bird was. It's the same colour as a Gold (Italian).(Called an Argente)
I'm in the process of breeding the red eyed quail again after many years, to find out what a Gold (italian) and dark range look like, I believe they'll look totally different from anything I've seen before. Also this year, I'm going to see what red eyed Platinum, blue and silvers look like. I'll post photo's if and when.
It's probably a white or ivory carrying the Fallow gene.. If eye sight improves with time it is a Fallow, their blindness goes away as they mature.
Button Mom
I just had an albino quail chick hatch with pink eyes, skin and yellow/white feathers. It is making no noise, I didn't know it hatched until I saw the shell and the chick drying in the incubator. Will it survive? Its still drying, but when its ready I will put it with the other chick that hatched.
Good luck with your little one and let us know. Mine died as it could not seem to see the food. I tried to had feed it but I just could not get enough nutrition into it.
Do let us know if yours is successful.
