Hello asked the alderwoman how she felt on allowing chickens. She is willing to listen. Need to find resources to give to her. Any suggestions or advice?

are you looking to links on articles, or research papers?

Or

Names of books and such where you can drop them off to her to read?

this one has the top 5 reasons to have chickens (you can print that for her)
http://www.raising-chickens.info/

here is that same sites pros and cons list
http://www.raising-chickens.info/raising-chickens--pros-and-cons.php

another top 5 list
http://ezinearticles.com/?Top-5-Reasons-Why-Raising-Your-Own-Chickens-is-a-Good-Idea&id=4866237

here is a link to BYC's sister site sufficient self forum I am sure you will get lots of info explaining why raising your own chickens are a great idea
http://www.sufficientself.com/forum/

When you are talking to the alderwoman be prepared to answer questions like:
why do you want to do this?
how many chickens do you want to have?
how are you going to control pests like mice, rats, raccoons, ect... (this may be a big hurdle to overcome. many times people dont want chickens in their neighborhood because the increased vermin and other pests)
how are you going to control smell?
how are you going to dispose of the litter/bedding from the coop?
how loud are they? do you want to have roosters?

have a list of the positives too, the above list of links have many many ++ points listed

good luck!
