She is only a day old. Everyone thought she was going to die so I got her for free. She is a firecracker. She isn’t sick like gasping for breath or anything like that. Her legs are just sprawled and can’t walk. She kicks her legs and tried to move around. She can somewhat move around on her belly. I really like her so I want to save her. How can I do that?

Does she have splayed legs (to far apart to get them under her?) If that is the problem, you can bring the legs closer together with vet wrap strips or tape, and leave it on for 4-5 days while helping her to get up and try to walk. I am only familiar with chickens, but that is how to treat splayed legs. I would also recommend using 1/4 tablet daily of crushed human vitamin B complex (or super B.) Here is how to tape the legs:

There also is a goose forum under forums above. You can also post there.

These are them. I am not really sure if they are splayed or she has a niacin deficiency or something else.

The Super B complex has both niacin and riboflavin which can help with leg issues.
I do know how to treat it if it is a niacin deficiency. My goose had it when she was a duckling and almost died. She was super pale and super lethargic. I got the human niacin in the capsules and gave her some every few hours. She had her color back and was walking better the next day. I am not sure what it is though.

Not goose I mean crested duck. She is now three years old and waddles like a penguin but very healthy.

Can you try to make a leg hobble like the ones in the link I posted? When my chick had splayed legs it was very awkward at first when I applied the hobble to pull the legs closer together, but it quickly got the idea. Watch to see if it falls and help it up. It needs to be addressed within the first few days of life. It is worth a try, even if that is not the problem. Make sure the gosling is on non-stick surface to help get it’s footing.

I know that I got her for free because she was sick but it’s only her legs. I put her beak in some water and she drank a little. I have already lost my dog who I breed and raised from infancy less than three weeks ago, so I really would rather not have anymore death. Thank you for your help.
