Oh I am always learning, never did get smart enough to know what I shouldn't try and do, hey I have come far, I now know how to use a speed square ( for straight cuts anyway) and have been dabbling at using a level for more than just a straight edge....
I have read many of your posts, and look to implement some of them.
Like all good operations my poultry enterprise is constantly evolving and changing. I originally just wanted a few hens for eggs, and now here I am trying to make a more sustainable meat cross for my purposes.... huh who would have thought?
Our first 2 buildings may not be very pretty to look at but they fulfill their purpose, and at a little over 2 years show minimal wear. Now I need to perfect the subtraction size of my poultry equation and we are getting closer!

Didnt get much done tonight... set up part of the run fence to see how it will come together

The pics do not show any big progress....

we secured some of the kennel panels in place and added a "roof" to the stand alone 8x12, we used some 8 foot long 4 foot tall fence panels we had. The "roof is primarily for sun shade and to keep some of the snow at bay if we use that area in the winter, the plan is to use it as a batchler pad or fattening pen.

after we get the hardware cloth apron and 1 inch chicken wire secured we will add one more fence panel to the opposite side to provide shade and or wind break from the north, here you can see one on the south side.

here you can almost see where we started adding the hardware cloth apron around the bottom.
We will be covering the entire top with 1 inch poultry wire.
Still a few finishing touches to add to the building...

tonight we added the wire to the interior walls.

used a 2x2 to sandwich the wire to the plywood.

I was a little concerned about the gap between the two cross boards because it was at the same level I plan to attach the roost so we added a board to fill the gap.

Managed to get the last 2 pieces of siding on and added the trim boards on the corners.

also moved one of the gate panels into place. Need to buy some lag bolts and hooks to attach the panels to the building and part of the existing fence. Still have 3 doors to build and a gate.

almost ready to install hardware cloth and poultry wire around the perimeter.

Wow had so much planned to get done today. And then a nap attacked me.... we managed to get one kennel panel attached to the coop and started around with the second layer of hardware cloth, probably overkill but it made me feel better.

Got a few things accomplished one roosting bar installed

i took some advise I read on here and made em fold up

did manage to get some poultry wire up

used a 1x4 to connect the wire to the house

started to put the roof on... down to the nit picking stuff.... takes a lot of time to attach all the wire together.
