My boyfriend and I bought 12 fertilized eggs to try and hatch our own chicks this year. Unfortunately all twelve of our eggs were unsuccessful. We are new to the chicken world and have been googling possible reasons for this mishap. One of the things we read about was IBV? or maybe it was IPV? Has anyone on here ever heard of it or does anyone know by the pictures I posted below what might have happened?

Hatch rate can be influenced by many things. How they are handled and packaged for shipping, humidity and temp during incubation. Also how old the eggs were when you set them. All you can do now is to try to determine what it might have been and try again
Sorry for your losses

Were they shipped eggs? Did you leave them rest point down for 24 hrs? What were your temps and humidity?

The eggs where not shipped, Picked up by a local breeder and were collected that day. Ran 99.5 for the incubation on a circulated air incubator (Farm Innovators Circulated Air Incubator) which has an automatic egg turner. RH was around 45 for the first 18 then bumped up to around 65.

Did you assist before ready? What day is the picture of the dead one? Definitely more information needed.

Welcome to BYC, sorry about your eggs. :hugs I have one of those incubators and found that the temps in the middle of the incubator ran 2 degrees higher than the edges. :(
