We have 3 current layers but they've stopped laying in the nesting boxes.
It doesn't look like they laid eggs in the yard because I checked the whole yard and under a bunch of junk.
I recently cleaned up the nesting boxes and put fresh bedding in so I definitely know it's not that causing them not to lay eggs.
They free range while also getting feed in the morning and 3 hours before bed.

They're only a year old.

Any reasons why they're not laying?

What feed do you feed them?

If you think they aren't laying can you keep them locked up in the coop for a few days to make sure they aren't laying.
They could be laying in the yard in a spot you haven't checked.
Could something, like a snake, be sneaking into the coop and stealing the eggs?

We don't have snakes around our neighborhood. I've checked everywhere in the yard. Our dogs haven't been outside all day so I know they didn't eat the eggs. I can't keep them locked up because they'll kill the other young hens. They've already pulled a bunch of feathers out one morning when I forgot to let them out.

Do you have a camera in the nesting area? Just wondering how you are sure it isn't snakes or rats or something else?
Because our dogs always alert us if animals trespass into our yard. They once alerted my parents that I was in the yard at 4am. We don't have the money to buy a camera to put in the nesting boxes.
