Hello everyone! Is there anyone who can just assure me that I can modify 10x20 plan to 12x20? I need this to be 12feet to cover fully my coop. I am using 2x6 rafters and hurricane ties and OSB plus PBR roof. The plan is originally for 10x20 but I need those two extra feet. I am just worried the construction won’t be strong enough. Thank you!

Can you help us out a bit? Is your concern that the plan’s 2x6’s won’t be strong enough to span 6’ instead of 5’? (If you have a standard center gable roof.) Or span 12’ instead of 10’? (If you have a one-slope shed-style roof.)

Will you be maintaining the same pitch (slope) over the longer span? Or flattening it out?

What cross pieces will you have?
