All About Wing Clipping

I have herd small chicken breeds, are really good at flying.

I have heard that as well which makes sense.

I have 3 hens and I let them roam around in the garden that is fenced off all round, with a 6-7 foot fence.
I may be wrong in doing it but I got worried they may fly over, if the flew over the front and side it leads on to a busy road, if they flew over the back in to a neighbour's garden they have 2 dogs so I clipped the wings.
I did both sides, they had good long flight feathers too, I just felt better after I did it hoping they were safe.
