All black chick??

LOL. I agree with you there. But, I have seen and raised the ayam cermani. It looks a lot like them, plus they are not big birds. Remember, that TSC doesn't raise their birds. They have three suppliers, that I know and have promised not to disclose. Last year, I bought some of TSC's birds. I thought I was buying Minorcas, I ended up with Australorps. Just goes to show that with the TSC's birds, you can never know what you are going to get. You may luck out and get an ultra rare bird.

True. But the chances of getting a Cermani from a hatchery is nearly 0. I personally don't know of any who sell any yet. How knows. If it it one... go buy a lotto ticket, what luck!!!

Maybe I hit the lotto! Pic I posted looks a lot like my chick! I'm hoping it stays this way!!

Honestly, Ayam Cermani, I doubt, but the more common Svart Hona is not beyond reason. The best test is black skin, vent, legs, and inside of the mouth.

Vent is very dark, no pink but almost grey, more toward inside is grey black, also mouth is extremely dark, can't tell if it's pinkish or black grey though, but it's dark in there.

Definitely not a silkie. Not a sumatra either. My guess is its a black OEG bantam since you say its wild and much smaller.

Took my black chick outside today, saw some very faint brown coming in on back, around top of new feathers on wings...it won't show up in photos, now any clue of what type of bird since it's not all black? I'm stumped.

I got an all black chick from the TDC assorted bantam bin too! He/she looked like that when I got it. It's 3 weeks old and I just posted again. Hopefully we can figure these mystery chicks out
