Good morning! I got this sweet boy with the assumption he was a Fibro EE. He has the black skin and pea comb. So I am guessing he is mixed with silkie somewhere in his line. He is supposed to be 10-11 weeks old now, but my 7-8 week old barred rocks have caught up to him in size. And the two EE ladies i got with him have out grown him also.

I am new to EEs and was wondering how big are they supposed to get? Like compared to a RIR. I dont know anything about bantams either. But I am beginning to think he is going to stay pretty small. Sorry for the blurry pics, he moves alot!

He could be a cross with a Silkie or Ayam Cemani or a few other fibro breeds. All are pretty small, so chances are that yours will stay small, too.
Can he still mate with the "normal sized" EEs? They arent as big as my RIRs, i think they will be maybe medium sized hens when they grow up.

Yes-- even tiny bantams usually find a way with large hens, believe it or not. His trouble will be from larger roosters not giving him the chance unless he is housed separately.

Ill most likely pen them seperatly when its time for him to get busy so he has the opportunity and I know who the parents are of the babies. Glad to hear he will "make it work" lol.

Do you know if the black skin gene will be passed to his babies? Not sure if thats a male or female gene.
