I really appreciate your posting this experience and know it must have been very difficult to do. I'm brand new to chickens and have eight week olds that we put out about two weeks ago. My husband kept insisting they would be fine, despite the cold rainy weather, but I had my doubts because they seem too young to handle harsh conditions. Because of your posting, I will be checking them even more frequently now. I'm so sorry that this happened to you and I hope it is some small consolation that you may have saved many of us from doing the same thing.
so sorry for the loss of your little chicks... I cannot imagine, but do appreciate you allowing your experience to teach all of us new chicken owners out there! You lost some and for that I am sorry, but in the process you may have saved many!!!
Sorry for your loss, as others have said tho, you may have saved many lives by sharing your experience. I for one have learned from this, and I thank you. Don't be too hard on yourself.
I am very sorry for your losses. Everyone makes mistakes and it shows that you really care about your birds to post this so we can learn from your experience. I hope your little survivors pull through.
Man, I know you feel terrible, and I'm sorry that happened to you! I appreciate and respect you so much for posting; my little broody hen has been BEGGING me to let her out to free range with her 6 chicks, but this post has helped me to stay strong and not give in to her demands. I live in town, and the neighborhood cats have been prowling around. I hope that your little ones pull through!
