Donrae You are right.It should have been easy to figger out the difrance. The problem we had where they where all one sex. In my mind I just could not grasp that fact.So I just could not say they where all cockerels.

I only have around 20 left. We have been eating them for weeks.I will see if I can get some pics. I am not much of a pc person.

I am out of eating roosters, now I have maybe 4 roosters but really don't want to eat any, how to chose?

You seem to have bad luck hatching eggs like me. Out of 6 eggs hatched I got 5 boys. 82 boys is crazy though!!

I think it was the year of the rooster I bought straight run chicks this year with less than 25% that were pullets and hatched out 11 eggs with only 2 being pullets. Hopefully next springs hatch will be a better ratio of pullets to cockerels.

I wanted to get a couple of roosters just not as many as I got. I ended up with 25 and 5 of those roosters were suppose to be pullets. I will never get straight run again nor will I buy from TS I think they mixed the straight run with the pullets.

want to know what makes me mad? Meyer hatchery is now offering a mix of rare chickens. they say you will get at least 5 of different breeds , but they consider different colors of the same breed is a different kind. boo!
