" All dogs seen wandering this property will be shot"

I'd post the sign, figure out what time she walks her dogs and sit in the yard! I hate dog owners like this one!

Hehe...sit in the yard with a shot gun...I bet she'd keep the dog on a leash then!!

If only I had the time. I would. But for now I'll just have to settle with keeping the camera, notebook, and slingshot with rocks within reach. I know for a fact that this slingshot can kill cats, and birds and im a pretty good shot, so i'm just leaving the gun by the back door.

Im just tired of people around here. I mean yes, there are the young couples with kids, or old couples that love my ducks and like to drive by slowly or stop so that they can see them, but then there are these neighbors with dogs that they let run wild

my parents said that since we are in the county and right out side city limits that there is no leash law. I'm still going to double check though when i get a chance to go to the big down town library.

My parents dont want any signs in the yard yet. Im thinking of buying some neon green and orange poster board and going ahead and making the signs anyway, and then when they say yes , that I can the work is done.

Ive spent hundreds of dollars on my ducks, and they have been my main thought for going on four years now. What can I say, Im a determined youngster with feathered hearts to protect.

bradishing a gun is a crime!!! the only time a gun sould be brought out is if you need to use it. being a minor that is asking for trouble. get pics, if possible with things that are identfiable as your yard in the back ground right now the law is in your favor. that can change quick if you start stuff like this

No matter where you are, there is almost always a law that says a dog off his property must be contained by the owner. Even in my little podunk county, there is a law regarding that, plus one that says anyone who shoots a dog harrassing livestock will have no liability. I think you can find your county/city ordinances will have at least something to say about it.

just because you are out of the city limits , doesn't mean there is no leash law. Very few places don't have leash laws today

No matter what the law may be on shooting dogs chasing livestock ~ we must remember that the OP is a minor. It is not a good idea for her to be encouraged to use a firearm in this case ~ esp when there are other options which have not been tried yet ~ like contacting the authorities. A single call may solve the whole problem. If it it necessary to resort to weapons ~ that action should be handled by the parents and not the child in this case.

I was just joking about the gun, and I can tell this kid is mature enough to know that!

And I don't know where you are from, but it's most certainly not a crime where I'm from to sit on your property with a gun. Not as long as we still have the right to keep and bear arms, anyway.

Edited to say...there was no way for me to know OP was a minor....discovered that after my post. The post is titled "...dogs seen wandering this property will be SHOT", so I guess I thought I was in good company!

I would go with the camera. Once my lab got loose and as I was walking down the road to get her, I guess she barked at someone, sure enough ppy, the next day guess who was at my house, animal control. The animal control lady was very nice but she said if it happened again all that person would need to do is take a pic of my dog without me being there, and I would get fined $60. And to the whole I was just letting her play with your ducks, why would she think you duck want to get chased by a big dog
