Oh my gosh, you've got to be loving every minute of this! They are adorable. Love the yellow one and the white one is something else... gonna be trouble, that one.
Thanks, I do think the Olive Egger is a pullet, but since it's only 2 weeks old, anything is possible. I just want enough D'Anver pullets to be able to keep at least two males. Aubrey says you can have equal males and females in a breeding pen since these are not insane breeders.
They're about 17 days old now and some of them touched the ground for the first time today, other than the dustbath dirt they've been playing in while inside. I bribed them outside with scrambled eggs and yogurt, but only a few brave souls would venture out. First one out was a porcelain D'Anver, brave little thing. I did notice today that of the three BLRWs, I think I have a trio. One is a definite male. Guess I'll keep one of the pullets and sell the pair that's left, if I'm right about the trio part.
Kathy in Fl, a few of the EE or Ameraucana babies have grayish legs and some are more white. They are BIG babies, though no obvious males right now. No idea on the BBS Rocks, but should have an idea of the male/female ratio in a week or two.
Pounding rain threw dirt all over my nice new coop, dang it.
