Good day,

We took possession of our new house and it came with a chicken coop.

That had 3 roosters, of various age and 9 chickens of various breeds.

The other day the big guy got the crap killed out of him by the Leg Horn rooster (not sure of the breeds name but looks like the cartoon chicken). I had to put him down ...

Well now the leg horn is attacking the other rooster (young roo) and some of the chicken are picking on other chickens ...

Anyway I can fix this situation before I feed the leg horn to my Neopolitan mastiff?

Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just so I underdstand this correctly - you moved into a new place that came with a chicken coop that already has chickens? Bonus! It sounds like your leghorn is solving the problem himself. Too many roosters to the amount of hens you have. He's top dog and proving it to the other guys. How big is your coop? Could they possibly be over crowded? Have the chickens always been together? Are they trying to reestablish their pecking order? Did you also bring some of your own chickens, or were these all the ones that were already there? Just trying to throw ideas out there for you to think about.

Great website for information, found a few types of my chickens so far.

Just for information ( I got 2 Plymouth Rock, 2 Delawares, 1 female leghorn, 2 drownish hens and 2 black hens)

The coup is about 7' wide by 10' long, 2 windows (one facing south, one facing west) out side cage is 7'x14' (devided in 2 so 7'x7' each)

In the coup I have 8 egg boxes mounted on the wall with a small tree branch ramp going up.

Beside that a few tree branch for roosting.

The chickens and roosters have been together atlease 2 years, not sure why things changed...

Not sure what type my young rooster is by is black with redish feathers on the neck ... and slippers ...
