all hope is lost....

i was able to find ONE breeder in my area that had polish creasted, silkies and lavender orpingtons.... i was going to pick them up 2 hours away from my home tommorow. well guess what??? she just informed me that she didn't save me any and the ALL were taken. JUST MY LUCK!!!:hit:hit:hit:hit I have been wanting chicks for SO LONG and now there gone. i was really hoping to get some QUAILITY birds. not just feed store who knows what.:hit i am so sad i literately started crying when i saw the email. i was GOING to order my chicks A MONTH ago but this breeder had just stuck eggs in the bator. WHYYY MEE????!?!?!:hit
Can you order some to be put in the incubator? There's a Hatcher by me that will put eggs in to order with money down. Then you know what you're getting, when you're getting it, and that they won't sell them first come first serve since you already paid. I am not a patient person, but sometimes what you really want is worth the wait. After having people not show time after time, I can't blame someone for not holding something for me without a downpayment to back up my word.

the thing is she told me she was not selling ANY until may 4th so i was coming early to get some so it was as good as a down payment. but apparently she changed her mind..

no, i am going to get feed store chicks. i already waited a month with this lady. my dad was wanting to get them a long time ago. (she put in the eggs for me, but apparently she changed her mind!)

Oh, well that's a different story. I'd be pretty upset. I'm sure you'll get your desired breeds eventually. I think I've been raising chickens around five years and I just now have my egg laying breed where I want it. The bantam pen is still a mess. I'm wanting to get nice silkies. The lady wants $55 for a dozen whether I pick up or ship and I've never spent that much on a gamble before, so I'm still debating.

$ 55 for a dozen silky eggs :barnie Are parents at least beautiful show stock????
They are some pretty birds, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to say if they're show quality. I just never heard of charging the same if you pick up as ship since there's more of a chance they'll hatch with pick up. Threw me off. I don't normally buy eggs though, so who knows.
