All Metal Coop? Newby Searching Many Possiblilities

Neat! I'd like see that. I have never heard of painting anything with engine oil. Doesn't it stink the birds out? Lol

takes a day to dry and the smell dissipates within a week ... any oil good for wood ... repels water don't it and prevents rot ...insects not too keen on the taste!!! Been doing it for years ....

That sounds like a great idea. May have to try that. Does it dry out pretty good or does it stay sticky?

Ack! :sick Engine oil is best recycled at auto parts store IMO.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, been done for years, works great against insects and rot...
...doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do.

Really ??? What so unsmart about it ? People use creosote all the time ... a petroleum by product ... besides being flammable (which wood already is) ... no other side effects ... auto parts center sell it on as furnace oil which is burnt and pollutes the air to heat homes... given the choice ... do something constructive with it that doesnt pollute !!!

I was talking my husband about this and that's about exactly what he said. About the creosote. Seems like it would be the same kind of thing
