All my chickens are gone

it is without a doubt a canine print, either a medium size dog or a coyote. If they were just killed and left, no doubt a dog, if they had been eaten then its a coyote.

You have experienced one of my worst nightmares. Now that the weather is cooling off, (down here in the coastal south a blessing), we are keeping our bedroom windows open a bit so we can cool off and listen out for the chicks. So about every 2 hours, any noise has us up and listening.
Of course, also, our head roo Curly has also started crowing around 3 am or so instead of his usual 4:40 to 5:00 am wake up call. Oh well, after a day like today (Cooper's Hawk), and for the rest of the fall season, best to keep an ear and eye out every chance we get.

This is a canine print. It is not the claws that tip it off (though they play in to factor) but the overall paw shape and weight distribution. I'm so sorry for your losses.

I mean no offense, but this made me giggle a bit! There are no Snow Leopards in Canada...

Dog; they kill more than they can eat (and usually don't eat even one, because they're not hungry, unlike coyotes). Coyotes will carry 'em off and eat 'em. Dogs will leave them lie. They'll do the same to sheep.

Do you own a rifle?

Bill
