Hi guys, long time no see. I just wanted to sort of ask a question on something my 4.5 week old Cornish Cross chicks have started doing. Whenever I come into the yard and sit down and watch them play and run around their main area, they all start running over and just sitting close or against me, even under or between my thighs.
I began to cry when one of them hopped onto my lap. I thought about how I am going to be processing these loving, gentle precious babies to eat. They’ve been showing me more love than any chicken I’ve ever had. They love head rubs and scritches, and they follow me almost all the time.
I don’t know what it means when they show so much love to me. It overwhelms me with guilt and remorse. I just want them to have the very best life, before their quick and painless end. How do I cope with this?!?
