The guy from the agr. dept finally after two months came today to test my Brahma mixes.
Yeh! so far so good. No pylorrum, no salmonila no something else. The worst virus ones I will not know till about christmas.
He said they look to healthy to be carriers but we would see. Also he said the wild bantam roo. needs to go for everyones safety so that seals his fate. He is wild and sneezes often. No one claims him. Say prayer they don't have any of those viruses he is checking for. That would be castatrophic not just for me but th community as well. They will also do checks for me each quarter to make sure non have the bird flu also. That makes it safer for us as poultry handlers.
The only cost was for the pylorrum testing the others are free. It was 5.00 . Jean

the 5 was for the pylorrum testing all the others were free and it was a 5 minimum. If you call them and say how many you want checked they would tell you the price. mine will be checked quartely from now on. The gov. really wants to keep a check on the birds in case of a bird flu outbreak so most of it is free. I am so hoping everything else will be neg. too. I want to get some heritage delawares and blue orps. from Speckled hen but won't until I am certain that i am clear. He also told me to mix 1 cup of clorox with 3 gal. of water and spray around the sides of the wire and post with it because the stray roo had been around it to protect my girls.
