Welcome to BYC from California! I started keeping chickens when I was 56 and I can hardly wait until I retire later this year (right after my 59th birthday)!
Hey Nic and chics,Sorry for not getting back sooner.I'm having an awful time figuring this all out.Any way ,Don't have room for a goat or two eh.That's too bad.For what it's worth-If your son really likes to drink milk you can always buy goats milk in the health section of the grocery store. The fat content in goats milk is akready broken downand easy to digest as opposed to cows milk.Problem is if you want to separate the cteam to make other products you need a cream separator,What am i doing I'm not talking chickens.Any way ,we live in Ontario about 20minutes from London On.,about ahour and a half east of Port Huron Mich. if thats any help. I had 2 standard cochen roosters all summer that a friend gave me and once i contained them in my new chicken coop this winter they weren't getting along. My buddy gave me a Plymouth rock pullet,I separated the roosters one is happy and i traded the other for a blue cochen hen .Now he's really happy .Any way gotta go get groceries Lets talk again sometime .
