Hello from Denver (soon to be San Antonio, Texas)
caf.gif

I'm not entirely new to the site, but I just joined. I AM a newbie to actually raising chickens and admittedly, I'm still in the "homework" stage though I've been around them before a bit to start figuring things out (my brother in law has chickens, but didn't do any homework, smh)
I want as much of a head start as possible before I get my first chicks. Reading everything I can on here, I'm an avid note taker, so if anyone wants to throw some sage advice my way, Please and Thank You in advance. It's a great deal of relief to see how helpful everyone is here at BYC. I can't wait to find some other "crazy people" (my family are Total city people and think I'm crazy)
Only I don't mind being crazy. It's SO much fun. lol

Thanks to any who reply and Brightest Blessings to you all and all your feathery friends!

I am a newbie as well not only to this site but with raising chickens. A couple of my friends began raising them a year ago and gave us some of the eggs, WOW what a difference in taste. I decided to raise my own and I have to admit I got the chicks before the coop was ready although we were only going converting a small shed (6 X 8). We still have to cut the chicken door and build the outside pen but since they are still so small and the temps are slowly dropping we still have time.
Anyway Welcome and good luck with your new additions.
