Some of the old timers around here use pine needles under their roost for a couple of weeks and then spray the chickens with a mixer of malithon and permathrin that you can get from the farm store but wish you luck and keep us posted

I have 30 4 week old pullets who have started to look raggedy, the feathers are missing from their backs, not all of them, some look normal with lots of feathers. I'm assuming it is an overcrowding problem because I haven't been able to finish my coop until tonight and they have all been in this little 2x2' cage while I'm at work. I hop this clears up, the coop they are in now is 10' x12' with a second floor over half of the area, and plenty of roost space.
