I lost it in late August when the chicks were $0.25 each at the local TSC!

They still have them for a quarter. My neighbor just got 14 more. Now she has 35 birds. (She seriously needs help to expand her coop and run!)

She said one of her sons is going into the egg selling business, and they can go through a DOZEN a day. He will have at least three neighbors as customers.

But not me... When the pullets start in about 6 weeks I should have enough. When all 6 are laying next spring, I'll have more than enough.

I'm a little concerned when I read these threads about people being addicted to chickens or having the idea they're crazy chicken people and then they say they have 6 or 7 or 10 or 12 chickens or that they just bought 4 or 8 chicks.

The problem is you need a bigger incubator...only 54? So 50% hatch rate (any more is just a bonus) that’s 27, half will be Roos to give away, that’s 13 (round down), then you MIGHT have to give away 6 to a friend, that’s only 7! I think you need more...

Does it help that I have 2 more 36 egg capacity incubators?
