I am looking for 2-4 silkie laying hens. I have aquired a white silkie roo and decided I would like to get him some girls to match. Any color... long as they are already laying eggs im interested!

Anyone need a Dominique rooster? I now have three starting to crow. I only have seven hens so I think that one rooster is plenty. I am in southeast Texas.

Once this north Texas cold snap passes, I'll be able to finish work on the coop and get a flock started....just wondering what the consensus is on Ideal Poultry. Is it better to order from them or find a local source? I'll be looking for 6 hens shortly...Thanks!

Ideal will send small orders of chicks but I think here is a much better place. Just because these people are enthusiast and you will most likely end up with much better quality birds. I did find my five hens on Craigslist and my personal experiance was great!; I do plan to get my silkies here if I can though as I know the people here are serious about their chickens!

As it happens I want to add not only some silkies for my roo.. (in one run) and I would like to add some Welsummer pullets to my laying hens flock. So I will have to part with a couple of my ee's. Two just started laying and one has yet to start. She is a buff color and was smaller than the rest when I got her.

Here she is, not the best pic but she was relaxing!
