All those readers ie. nook, kindle

Defintiely the nook or kindle.... Nook all you have to do is click download, and it'll do everything else.

To buy a book:\\

On touchscreen, click Store
Find book you want
Either click Buy or Get Free Sample
If you click buy, confirm it then go to your library. It is there! Yaay!
IF you click Sample, go to your library. You get the first couple chapters free, then if you want to buy it for real, there is an option on the touchscreen of Buy. Confirm, and boom! you have a booK!

And should i get a nook or kindle?

Well, I would say nook just because I've seen and handled both and like the nook better. It will even be able to have apps on it! Already it has games and a great MP3 player, a cool color touch screen and a magnificent display.

You can get them from www.bn.com , which is Barnes and Noble, or go to your nearest Barnes and Noble.

Let us know how you like it!

Thanks! Another question..

Do i need to have wireless internet to use it? or a router? or what??...

I would love one of these readers too. What I'm wondering about is book selection? I don't read novels and fiction, I tend to get how-to's, self sufficient living type stuff, self help, etc. How is the selection and which one offers the best selection? Do any of them give you access to this more obscure stuff?

I have the Kindle app for my iPhone and LOVE it. The app was free, so I can't speak to pricing, but I can say this: there is a huge selection of titles, and many, many free books.

I am a huge reader, and this little app on my iPhone has so improved my reading time. I read on my lunch break, waiting at Dr.'s appts, in the HUGE check out lines at Wal-mart. Everywhere, LOL.

As of this posting, there are 676, 371 titles available for my Kindle. I'm a big Historical fiction reader, and I do like my romance novels, thrillers, etc., and I've discovered a lot of fantastic books simply because they were a free download. 90 Seconds in Heaven was a free download, and it literally changed my life, and how I viewed God's role in my life and the suffering and difficult times we've had through the years. FANTASTIC book.

My best friend has the WiFi Kindle and loves it.

It depends. The kindle has a 3G wifi that lets you upload anywhere or you can get the plain wifi one that you have to have wireless to upload. The plain wifi is cheaper but the 3G one lets you have the freedom of uploading a book anywhere and the 3G is free-you don't have to pay for a plan just the upfront cost of the device.
My DH had one last winter. He really liked it because his eyes are not as young anymore and he could adjust the print size to as big as he wanted and didn't have to wear reading glasses. BUT he took it to China on a business trip. It was in his briefcase and got squished up against something and that made the screen get permanently scrambled--so I would highly recommend a hard cover although that adds to the price--$40 to $60 on Amazon.com. He really misses it though and figured it would cost almost as much to get it fixed as to get a new one so he just bought one last week--they're on backorder now for shipment Sept 8.
Oh and also, Amazon offered DH a free download of the computer version of kindle after he bought his first one so you can read any of your books on your computer too.

That's just the front page

I have all of my news apps/yellow pages/email/internet etc on the first page, the second page is apps-that-search-for-other-apps (lol!), the third page is books, the fourth is action games etc. I do have a cell phone, a Samsung Hype (basically a copy of RIM's Blackberry), bc I won't spend the (much) extra cash for an iPhone - I just have the iTouch (it doesn't make calls over a cell network). There IS a new gadget invented by a 22 yr old Chinese programmer called the Apple Peel 520. It's like a silicone case for your iTouch, but it has a small battery and space for a SIM card. When you jailbreak and download their software, you can use your iTOUCH as an iPHONE, without incurring any smartphone charges from your cell service provider

Best part is? It's $57! As soon as I figure out where to order one from, guess what I'm getting

Your best bet is to jailbreak (see my first post in this thread) an Apple product - iPhone, iTouch, iPad, etc, and then search for books - all of the apps become free. I downloaded "Free Books", and they have LOTS available for instant download. They even have a 'Banned Books' heading, for books that have been, or currently are, banned in some part of the world. It's pretty cool!
