All Turkeys Died :( exept 1

Sadly all my baby turkeys died exept for 1 of them.2 weeks old.bought 4 of them from the local feed store but now only one is left.i have read over 20-30 different post on what to do and I tried everything from.medicated water.to food..the marbles..the lamp..etc and my turkeys still died sad.png they are inside.pine bedding.very warm inside wer there at..I would say between 70-85 degrees..inside a big box so plenty of room.just feel sad don't know what to do..will he be fine alone?.or do I need to get at least one more.will they get along.someone help ima first timer

Sorry to hear of your loss. Few Questions:

Did you teach them to eat and drink? You have to dip their beaks in the water and food. It also helps to have a chick in the mix to help teach the,.

You need between 95 - 98 degrees for the first week or so. Then you can drop back to 90 - 95. Is that correct that you only had 75 - 80 degrees?

Clean water and Clean food is essential.

Agreed your temperature is off, it's recommended to start at around 100 degrees.

All good advice! what is your heat source? If using a heat matt or lamp, watch the babes' behaviors; piling on/under the heat source means it's too cold. Piling away from it in a far corner means too hot. Screaming is always a sign of: A) too cold B) hungry C) thirsty D) in pain. Poults are fragile in the first week or so; you've got to show them the ropes! So sorry you lost them

To address your last question, turkeys are VERY social, and it would do the last one a lot of good to have a friend. Get a thermometer and check your temps often to make sure they are right. You can slowly wean them off the heat lamp between 2-4 weeks old depending on how warm it is outside/where ever you have them.

Since the temperature of an adult turkey is around 106, and that's what the poults are being heated up to when they are under the hen than you aren't treating like a mother turkey does, you are keeping them chronically chilled.
