Alright, I think my hatch is over and I ended up with 23 out of 50. Today is Day 20. Actually, only 15 hatched by Day 18, then over the last two days the additional 8 popped out. Was a total surprise - no movement in the eggs whatsoever, was pretty sure they were 'gonners', but no. Turned around and all of a sudden - there are more babies running around - have no clue why or how!
Baffled and grateful, I guess LOL
Leaving the rest of the eggs alone until day 21 just in case, who knows, right?
Problem was - my humidity kept going up to 80% and I kept trying to lower it, opening the lid and so on... I don't understand why it was going so high (I was not adding ANY water, all vents fully open and still 80-85%), so because I kept opening the lid to let humidity out - so many were pipping and starting to unzip only to get stuck, dried out and finally would stop moving. I had to help most of them out (only after they sat unzipped for a day or so without any further progress), but all are OK!!! Then I finally gave up, left the humidity be, stopped opening the lid and VOILA - all those others just popped right out, in no time at all. No long drawn out unzipping and sitting and struggling. Just would go from zero to completely out in 30 minutes.
So, lessons learned: I will not stress over humidity being high during lockdown in the future, it seems they are just fine at 80-85%.
Hope
