all who are hatching quail

My do better when I give them enough cage room to roam.. and toys... like hang old CD's in the cage and a bunch of weed & grass gone to seed. They peck at the CD's and grass instead of each other. Maybe that might help?

17 days ago I set 36 eggs from the mixed coturnix that I raised. The eggs were from when they turned 8 weeks old. I culled 4 due to non-development when put in lockdown. Last night I had 12 chicks when I went to bed, this morning I was up to 19. Can't wait to get home and see how many babies are sitting in the hatching tray!!!

Happy for you.. sounds like they are popping like pop corn

Ended up with 25 chicks out of 32 eggs. Not to bad. 2 pipped but seemed to shrinkwrap and died in shell, 2 I helped out and seem to be ok, 5 didn't fully develope. What is considered a good hatch rate with mixed browns, golden munch., tuxedos, and Tibetan?

That is great. That's a good hatch rate. It's always hard haveing any that don't make it across the finish line. Great job.

I am still new to raising quail. I just had my third setting of eggs hatch. Out of 116 eggs I had 80 chicks that are doing well 21 of the chicks tryed to hatch or did hatch and died shortly after. And 15 eggs that did nothing. My question is what is a normal hatch?
