all who are hatching quail

I know that the odds are against me with it being my first hatch and using shipped eggs but they are just so darn cute and there are no breeders locally so I figured id give it a whirl.

I started out in March with 30 Texas A&M white day old chicks. Now I have well over 200 birds. If anyone in the Jacksonville,Tx. Area needs quail or eggs please contact me.

that's a shame i was hoping you said Jackonville, FL y hope were up until i seen tx.. lol but yay congrast to you ricky60

My first hatch (coturnix) was 65 out of 84. Currently my bator is full of chicken eggs and 20 quail. Have another bator at my Daughter's that will ease the pressure. Need to have 150 coturnix ready for the table in the fall for a customer. The way I see it you cannot have too many incubators!

I am very happy with my recent hatch of button quail. I set 20 eggs from first time hens and had 17 hatch. Good fertile eggs from day one. I'm trying to produce more breeders and separate colors so I can breed for true colors. Unfortunately, it seems most people have bred tuxedos into their flocks, and it's becoming harder to find pure strains of the original colors.

Had a great hatch out of my coturnix. Set 220 eggs without candling to check for small cracks. Culled out 36 duds or cracked when candled before putting in lockdown, 184 locked down. As of this morning only 5 eggs unhatched and one dead after pipping only, 178 chicks! Have 80 sold and going to raise the rest myself. :)

Set 35 button quail eggs, three got broken while I was away, tossed 9 clears before lockdown and accidentally dropped one. 22 eggs went to lockdown and 20 hatched with no fatalities so far. Two eggs still in bator in case they are just late. These were shipped eggs.

My incubator went down to 95 overnight I fixed problem and now average97-102 and the first 5 days had humidity at69% now I dropped it down to 58% do you think the eggs are still ok on day 8 now
